Professional Background
I have been a faculty member at Teachers College since 2002.
I received my doctorate from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2001, and was a post-doctoral fellow at TC in 2001-2002.
At HGSE I was a teaching fellow for courses like applied statistics, education and urban policy, community power and decision-making, and microeconomics.
In addition to my work as a faculty member I consult with nonprofit organizations, school districts and schools, and media organizations. I taught high school mathematics in DeKalb County, Georgia.
I majored in mathematics and minored in Spanish at Birmingham-Southern College and attended Wake Forest University to obtain a masters degree in mathematics education and become certified to teach high school mathematics.
