Black Maternal Health Week happens every year from April 11-17 to raise awareness for Black Maternal Health in the U.S. Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than their white counterparts. Expectant mothers deserve to know where and how to find quality nourishment for themselves and their babies.

We created a resources guide to help and to celebrate expectant mothers all over the world. These resources discuss topics such as ideal foods during pregnancy, foods to avoid during pregnancy, importance of Folic Acid, Vitamin D and knowing if you're getting enough iron (and more!). At the Laurie M. Tisch Center for Food, Education & Policy, we believe it is important to value healthy eating and nutrition for all expectant mothers. Thank you Oliver for creating this resource guide, it will be a great addition at our center. We are so excited to share it with you all.

This blog includes the guide with reliable pregnancy and nutrition resources. We hope you use and value this information as much as we do. Prenatal and postpartum nutrition is vital for both the child and the mother. Childhood nutrition can be impacted by the mothers' gestation and it can affect them throughout their life course. We will continue to be advocates for maternal and child healthy eating.
